How people had to help during the civil War.

Women in Indiana had a big job, they used to stay in the kitchen and work around the house,
but ever since the Civil War women had to work in factories, take care of the farms, make uniforms
for the Civil War, hunt and get food, teach at the schools, and take care of their house. They had a
big job to do since all the men were in the Civil War.

Women During the Civil War

Women during the Civil War had big responsibilities. The women first of all did not have a husband to
do all the farm work for them. They had take the place of their husband and nature it to good
quality food. The women also had to do all the other stuff men had to do. work at the factory, teach the
children, and sew and make the men foods and clothes. They especially had to nurse the wounded
soldiers. The women had a big job, and  yet they overcame it. I'm glad that there are women in this world!
We should all take time to think about the fact that you could be one of those women some day.

For example: One woman during the Civil War was Sarah Emma Edmonds. She was a spy for the Union during the Civil War. She was unique in her way. She succeeded in all her things. Sarah was born in Nova Scotia and had a very difficult early life. She fought through it and became a woman who would defend her country. She was a great woman.

Women are now very useful. The men finally realized the women were great at doing things that they would do!
